Mr Oladiran Olalekan, CEO AGL Technologies and Creative Director of Miss Tourism Ogun beauty pageant and Tourism Awards talks more about Miss Tourism Ogun, challenges faced and benefits to Contestants of MTO2016
FVTURE: Give a brief talk about yourself, the position you are and general background you want us to know.
Mr OLALEKAN: My name is Oladiran Olalekan, CEO AGL Technologies and Creative Director of Miss Tourism Ogun beauty pageant and Tourism Awards.
FVTURE: FVTURE: Tell us more about Miss Tourism Ogun.
Mr OLALEKAN: Miss Tourism Ogun is a beauty Pageant with a purpose geared towards empowering and mentoring on to stardom a new generation of women in Nigeria at large while promoting our culture and tourism alongside. Miss Tourism Ogun sole mission is to revitalize tourism within the state through beauty while searching to discover and nuture future personalities, brand ambassadors, business women, movie stars, super models etc
FVTURE: Walk me through the step-by-step process that you went through in order to get this pageant organized.
Mr OLALEKAN: Wow.. The process is a long and stressful one as we begin each edition of the event on an adventure around the state and neighbouring states in search of young female talents via audition. After Auditions then we have the public Awareness, in which the Public tend to vote their favourite into the camp house where the contestants are drilled, trained and mentored by Top Photographers, Designers, Business Icons, Motivational Speakers etc.
FVTURE: Cool, Am sure the finance wasn't easy to raise. How was it like getting sponsors and media partners?
Mr OLALEKAN: Not a child's play getting Sponsors and Partners. One thing is to get the right brand, the other is for them to support the great cause. But in all Miss Tourism Ogun so far has been an individual sponsored project.
FVTURE: wow you sponsoring it yourself ? It's difficult to see an event that is self-sponsored. That's cool.
Mr OLALEKAN: Of course yes. But the mission is important and must move forward while we still pray for brands to support us.
FVTURE: That's nice. So if a girl walks up to you asking for your advice why she should be among the contestants and you only had a few minute to give her your best tip, what would it be?
Mr OLALEKAN: Pretty simple. Miss Tourism Ogun is a Life Changing opportunity. But you have to be ambitious and focused.
FVTURE: In details, what are the benefits to the Contestants and also the crowned queen?
Mr OLALEKAN: The Crowned Queen gets Cash Prize, Empowerment Scholarships, Wardrope Allowances, Exotic International Trip, Brand Endorsements, International Modelling Contracts, Represents Ogun State at Miss Tourism Nigeria 2017 etc. Runner-ups gets Cash prizes, brand endorsements, Trips, Consolation prizes, modelling contracts and lots more. Other contestant gets consolation prizes and empowerment opportunities.
FVTURE: Hehe, that's lots of stuff. Now I do envy the Queen tho..
FVTURE: If someone wants to become part of this, where and when would the auditions hold + requirements?
Mr OLALEKAN: To become a contestant, applicant must pay the registration fee of N5000 to the firm’s account, go to www.misstourismogun.com/register to fill the online form. Unfortunately we have just two auditions left. July 23rd 2016 will be the Lagos Audition at Koga lounge, Orgeun and August 6 2016 the Final audition holding in Abeokuta at Richton Hotels, Ibara Housing . Requirements for audition are
1. A contestant must be on Nigerian Origin
2. Must be between the age of 17-25years of age
3. She must be Single, never Married, Pregnant or bore a child before.
4. She must be elegant and posses a minimum of 5ft upward
FVTURE: Ok.. On that final day of the pageant, what are the things you looking forward to?
Mr OLALEKAN: Looking forward to a very successful event.
FVTURE: What would you say that is the biggest challenge/ problem you've encountered so far?
Mr OLALEKAN: Finance is the biggest challenge.
FVTURE: ohh... but I am sure it's been solved because you've really gone far with Auditions and preparations right?
Mr OLALEKAN: We are still seeking for Financial assistance and Brand Support. The Auditions are just a phase of the whole event.
FVTURE : Ohh. I pray you get the support you need.
